The sliding rigger rowing rigger can be mounted on most small craft that have an open cockpit or deck area. Canoe, wherry, dory, whitehall, shell, sit-on-top kayak, catamaran - they can all use this sliding rigger rowing rigger. And mounting is as easy as installing four screws! Each time you use the rigger it can be removed from the boat by removing two wingnuts and sliding the rigger off of the tubes. Quick and easy!

The Virus sliding rowing rigger needs to be mounted no more than 3 inches below the top of the gunwale to clear the wing. The widest part of the rigger/stretcher assembly requires approximately 15 inch clear width for free movement. Thwarts, seats, or other sturdy cross members should be used to support the rigger. If the boat doesn't have any appreciable flex, side mounted brackets can also be used. The rigger is held in place by a screw through each of the four mounting brackets. These wood screws can be replaced with machine screws and tee nuts or carraige/hex bolts and nuts. Any substitute hardware should be of stainless steel.

The sliding rigger system should be mounted with the seat at the center of bouyancy in a single or the two seats equal distance from the center of bouyancy in a double. The center of bouyancy can be located by shifting weight in the boat until it floats evenly in the water. Most canoes have the center of bouyancy at the midpoint of the canoe.
